Senators Romano, Baldwin, Beach, Brown, Caputo, Geffert, Jeffries, Lindsay, and Stollings moved to amend the bill on page thirteen, by striking out all of section three and inserting in lieu thereof a new section, designated section three, to read:

§16-2R-3. Prohibition to perform an abortion.

(a)   An abortion may not be performed or induced or be attempted to be performed or induced unless in the reasonable medical judgement of a licensed medical professional:

(1)   There exists a nonviable embryo or fetus;

(2)   There exists an ectopic pregnancy;

(3)   There exists a medical emergency;

(4)   There exists a pregnancy that is the result of sexual assault, as defined in §61-8B-1 et seq. of this code;

(5)   There exists a pregnancy that is the result of incest, as defined in §61-8-12 of this code.
